Jason cut from American Idol
Jason Castro, the 20-year-old dreadlock kid from Texas, didn’t look surprised when he was cut from American Idol Wednesday night cutting the finalists down to three very talented singers — David Cook, David Archuleta and Syesha Mercado.
Of course, he shouldn’t be surprised because the judges pretty much hated his performances of “I Shot the Sheriff” and “Mr. Tamborine Man” on Tuesday night. Judge Simon Cowell even went as far as to tell him to “pack his suitcase.”
Right before getting cut Wednesday night, Castro joked about his performances saying someone told him he “shot Mr. Tamborine Man.” He also said he felt that his inexperience was starting to show.
Personally, I think Jason does have a place in the music world — but it won’t be as American Idol.
I think he will have a fine career, but his music is more suited for a more mellow, niche audience. He doesn’t have the same kind of rock and roll fan base that David Cook (or Michael Johns) has.
As for the girls, I don’t think Jason Castro will have any problems getting a date for the next 10 years.
Bye, bye Texas boy.

I adored Jason! I’m extremely sad to see him go. At least we still have David Cook.
